Former Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo has alleged that Nigerian military generals rank among the world’s wealthiest hotel and estate owners despite earning modest official salaries.
Speaking during an interview from 9:54 with Symfoni TV, Adebayo questioned the source of military officers’ wealth. “In the world of hotel business, Nigeria has the highest number of military generals owning hotels and estates. And everything is on a salary of how much?” he said.
The former presidential candidate rejected the concept of negotiating with terrorists, claiming such discussions represent power-sharing arrangements between official and unofficial criminals. “There is no negotiation with terrorists. What you have are official terrorists and bush terrorists having a conversation. So what you call negotiation is the discussion of a sharing formula between the official terrorists who bring the money and the unofficial terrorists in whose name they are collecting the money,” Adebayo stated.
He accused security officials of operating a lucrative scheme that exploits insecurity to siphon government funds without accountability. He argued that Nigeria’s armed forces and police possess sufficient capability to eliminate all security threats under proper leadership.
He proposed that President Tinubu issue a 30-day ultimatum to all security chiefs—including the Chiefs of Army, Naval, and Air Staff, Inspector-General of Police, and heads of intelligence agencies—demanding the complete elimination of terrorism or their resignations. View, More,
