Primate Ayodele, in a recent Facebook video from 1:11, revisited his earlier prophecies concerning Nnamdi Kanu’s situation and insisted that his stance has not changed.
He reminded his audience that he had long maintained that the issues surrounding Kanu would ultimately be resolved through dialogue.
According to him, “Ever before now I’ve said Nnamdi Kanu matter is going to be negotiation, all this matter that has happened is a matter of negotiations,” stressing that the path forward would not be determined solely by legal battles or punishment.
He reiterated that despite circulating claims and fears about a possible life sentence, such an outcome was unlikely.
Primate Ayodele emphasized that “he will not go for life imprisonment. The life imprisonment is just word of law, it’s not possible.”
He explained that while the legal framework might suggest harsh penalties, the reality would be shaped by political considerations, discussions, and eventual compromise.
The cleric urged those advocating for Kanu’s release to continue pushing, noting that progress would require effort and persistence.
In his words, “So begin to strive hard, he will soon be out, I don’t mean now but I said his matter will be reopen this year but it will be negotiation.”
He reaffirmed that his prophecy had not changed and that developments would align with what he had previously declared.
Addressing fears about Kanu’s safety in detention, Primate Ayodele dismissed predictions that Kanu might die in prison.
