In a recent video on Facebook from 08:22, Primate Elijah Ayodele has sharply criticized Nigeria’s security leadership, warning that the country is facing a deepening crisis due to ineffective responses from top military and police officials. Speaking on recent security challenges, Ayodele expressed frustration with delays and indecision in the nation’s defense structure.
“You know this place, when DSS give police, I be military said okay, in 30 minutes so things is going to happen. Why can’t they stay there and I say something happens they move,” he said, highlighting perceived gaps in operational readiness and coordination between security agencies.
Ayodele went further to suggest immediate action against top military leadership. “Eh oh my God, supposed to sack the Chief of Army Staff immediately. Immediately,” he said, questioning the competence and responsiveness of the military hierarchy.
He criticized the notion that current efforts reflect the best possible approach. “Is that saying that we are trying our best? When did you become chief? Have you spent 2 months, 3 months? No. You are still studying situations,” Ayodele said, urging leaders to act with urgency rather than bureaucratic caution.
The cleric emphasized the human cost of inaction. “Let’s use common sense. Nigeria is in pain,” he said, stressing that citizens continue to suffer from insecurity while the government struggles to respond effectively. He added that the president appears not to be fully aware of the magnitude of the problem.
“Forget about it. The president has not seen from that direction. Looking at it today, the government is getting weaker,” Ayodele warned, underscoring his concern that leadership indecision is weakening national security and public confidence. View, More,
