Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Prof. Sam Amadi, has issued a strongly worded message to young people in the South-East, calling on them to reorganize politically and take charge of the region’s future.
Amadi delivered the remarks in a post shared via his X account on Friday, November 21, 2025, sparking wide discussions online.
Amadi urged the youths to study the resilience of the Jewish people, writing that they should “learn from the Jews. A cockroach cannot be innocent in the gathering of fowls.”
He argued that the current situation transcends the case of Nnamdi Kanu and is now about securing “survival justice for Igbo people.”
He encouraged young people across the South-East to dislodge the existing political leadership and build a new structure capable of defending regional interests.
According to him, “it is no longer about Nnamdi Kanu… step up, sack the current political class in Igbo land. Take over and fight Nigeria for justice.”
Amadi insisted that the younger generation already possesses the capacity to lead, noting that they have the “technology,” “economics,” and “network” needed to restructure political power.
He urged them not to negotiate with the old political class or accept minimal concessions, saying, “don’t accept tokens. Take power from them and save the Igbo race.”
Referencing historical figures, he reminded the youths that Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Michael Okpara, and Nnamdi Azikiwe were young when they emerged as influential leaders.
“Ojukwu was a youth when he did. Okpara and Zik too,” he wrote, emphasizing that the time for decisiveaction has come. View, More,
