The Eruku community in Ekiti Local Government Area was thrown into confusion on Sunday when armed bandits attacked members of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun. Pastor Bamidele, who leads the church, said the attack happened at a time when the congregation was holding a special service.
In a video shared by Channels Television from 1:14, he explained that the church was gathered for a Thanksgiving to celebrate the rescue of 18 members who had been kidnapped three weeks earlier. According to him, the service was meant to appreciate God for bringing those victims back home safely after their difficult experience.
While the worshippers were still celebrating, the attackers suddenly arrived and disrupted the entire gathering. Pastor Bamidele said the bandits killed three people during the attack and abducted between 30 and 35 church members. He described the situation as another painful blow to the community, especially because the congregation had only come together to express gratitude for the earlier rescue.
In his words, “When the bandits came, they kidnapped almost 30 to 35 members of the church. We were doing Thanksgiving service for the 18 people who were kidnapped three weeks ago, and all of them were rescued.” View, More,
