Yahuza Getso, a security and intelligence analyst, has revealed that he too has been directly affected by the ongoing violence in Nigeria’s northern regions. He emphasized that the majority of those involved in banditry across the North-West and North-Central zones are Nigerians, not foreigners. According to him, the security agencies are fully aware of who these individuals are and where they operate.

In a report by LEADERSHIP on Wednesday November 19 2025, Getso explained that these criminals are not hiding in remote or inaccessible areas.

He stressed that the intelligence community has detailed information about their identities and locations. Despite this, the bandits continue to operate freely, raising concerns about the lack of decisive action from the authorities.

Getso expressed frustration over the public perception that the crisis is driven by foreign elements.

He insisted that the problem is homegrown and that the failure to act on available intelligence is a major reason the violence persists.

He questioned why, if the perpetrators are known, they have not been apprehended or neutralized.

He stated, “99.9% of the bandits operating in North-West and North-Central Nigeria are Nigerians. We know them, we know who they are, we know where they are. They are not in any hideout or any difficult terrain.” View, More,
