Nkiruka explained that the tragic incident unfolded suddenly. She remembered her husband waking up early, speaking briefly with her, and reminding her to prepare the children for school before he left for his job. She never imagined that would be their final interaction.
According to her account, not long after he stepped out, a neighbour stormed into their home, shouting her name and urging her to come quickly. When she asked what had happened, the man told her that her husband had been rushed to the hospital after being stabbed by suspected herdsmen.
