Dr. Bashir Kurfi, convener of the Katsina security community initiative, has shared his perspectives regarding the rising level of insecurity in Nigeria.
Recently, the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has directed the security agencies, including the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Police Force, to employ new measures in curbing the rising level of insecurity across the country.
However, during an interview with TrustTV News from 15:48, Dr. Bashir Kurfi, convener of the Katsina security community initiative, criticized the plans of the Nigerian states to broker a peace deal with bandits.
He recounted how a bandit leader, Jankare, had murdered a soldier, identified as Aminu, and the following day, a party was organized in the celebration of his death, and upon arriving at the venue, Jankare was hailed by fellow criminals for putting on the late soldier’s uniform.
