According to a report by the Punch News on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Gonoh Michael, a farmer from Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area who spent 12 days in the kidnappers’ den, has revealed that after one of the kidnappers wearing black met him in his farmland while he was working, he struggled at first, but he spoke Hausa, and eight more men emerged from the bush almost immediately.

Gonoh Michael recounted that the day started normally. He woke up early and headed to his farm, eager to take advantage of the cool morning hours. He was bent over weeding, focused on his crops, when he sensed someone behind him.

He said he turned and saw a man dressed in black standing quietly. Before he could react, the man rushed forward and grabbed him. Gonoh Michael struggled at first, but the man spoke in Hausa, and almost immediately, eight more men came out from the bush.
