In a recent video on YouTube from 07:08:35, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has recounted a personal story highlighting the power of unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ. Speaking during a recent ministration, Adeboye used the testimony of a close friend from his youth to encourage Christians to deepen their relationship with God and embrace the blessings promised in Scripture.
Adeboye began by reminiscing about a friend whose entire life revolved around Christ. “When I was younger, I have a friend… anytime I go to visit him, from the moment we say, ‘Hey, how are you? Long time no see,’ till I leave, he will be talking about Jesus Christ,” he said. According to him, the friend’s commitment was so intense that “he won’t allow you to talk about anything else until he escorts you back to your car. It will be Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.”
The cleric described this friend as someone whose faith was not superficial but deeply rooted. “Jesus was his life. He practically believed Jesus—dwell, trust Him, dwell with Him,” Adeboye stated, noting that such devotion reflected the heart of genuine Christian living.
Quoting Psalm 23, Adeboye underscored the blessings available to believers who abide in God. He explained that the chapter captures God’s total provision—spiritual, emotional, and material. “You know what he said in Psalm 23… God details all the blessings that He can make available to you—everything from food, from ability to sleep, from security,” he said.
Adeboye highlighted verse six in particular: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” He described this scripture as a guarantee for those who live in close fellowship with God. “That’s what some people consider to be the best chapter in the Bible,” he added.
The respected preacher urged Christians to emulate the same unwavering focus on Christ shown by his friend, insisting that such devotion activates divine promises. According to him, a life centered on Jesus is one marked by peace, provision, and the continuous presence of God’s goodness. View, More,
