General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, has weighed in on the insecurities in Nigeria.

In recent times, the level of insecurity in Nigeria has sparked a global debate as the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, threatened to enforce a military action in Nigeria over the alleged genocide against Christians.

However, in the video from 3:07, General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, stated that when the Boko Haram terrorists started their operations in Nigeria, they were not countered, hence the reason for the current state of the country’s security.

He maintained that when the Boko Haram terrorists came into Nigeria, they were protected, and even when the Lakurawa terrorists also came into Nigeria, they were not resisted as well.

According to the video, “Boko Haram started because we protected them. They started as a small group, and if it had been nipped in the bud, we probably wouldn’t have gotten to where we are today. The Lakurawas came in, and we brought them in, and we said they are our friends and families.” View, More,
