Primate Elijah Ayodele of IESC Worldwide has weighed in on the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Osun State, predicting a contest primarily between Otunba Iyiola Omisore and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
In a recent prophecy shared on the IESC Worldwide Facebook page from 7:23, Ayodele warned that the party risks losing the state if it fails to conduct a fair and democratic primary.
According to the cleric, APC’s internal democracy is crucial for retaining Osun. “If the party is partial, if APC is partial, they will lose in Osun State,” he said. He emphasised that leaders should not impose candidates based on directives from influential figures but should allow the democratic system to play out. “If they don’t allow the democratic system to take place, if they just speak that ‘I know him, he is my as-baba directed,’ they will fail,” Ayodele cautioned.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recently released the official timetable for the 2026 Osun gubernatorial elections. According to the schedule, parties are expected to conduct their governorship primaries between November 24 and December 15, 2025, ahead of the general election set for August 8, 2026.
Ayodele suggest that the APC’s choice of candidate could significantly impact the party’s chances in the state, highlighting the importance of internal party democracy and public perception.
Omisore, a seasoned politician, and AMBO, a prominent figure within the party, are widely viewed as the leading contenders in a race that will likely set the tone for APC’s fortunes in Osun. View, More,
