The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted sharply to the outcome of the recently concluded Anambra Governorship election, where Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, failed to deliver victory for his party’s candidate. The development has sparked political conversations nationwide, especially after reports confirmed that Obi lost his own polling unit to the APC.

According to a report by PM News on Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Lagos APC, through its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, mocked the former Anambra State governor, describing his loss in his own community as a clear message from those who supposedly know him best.

Oladejo stated that a man who could not earn the trust and support of his immediate neighbors should not be considered capable of leading a nation of over 200 million people. He argued that Obi’s defeat at his polling unit was not just a political loss, but a reflection of the true judgment passed on him by those who interact with him daily.

In his words:

“The people who know Peter Obi best — his neighbours, his community, his supposed stronghold — have given a verdict: they do not trust him and they have seen through his pretence. A man who cannot command victory on his own street cannot hope to lead a nation.”

Oladejo further insisted that the election result should serve as an eye-opener to Labour Party supporters, noting that leadership begins from home. He argued that if Obi could not convince those closest to him to support his political ambition, then Nigerians should question the authenticity of the image he presents on the national stage.
