In a recent video on Facebook from 01:25, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticized the Nigerian government for its continued failure to decisively tackle insecurity, especially in states affected by banditry and terrorism.
Speaking during a prophetic session captured at, Ayodele lamented that the government has “missed it” in its approach to fighting insurgency. “But where the government have missed it, even till now, states where we don’t need to waste our soldiers, don’t need to waste their lives,” he said, expressing frustration at what he described as unnecessary loss of lives among Nigerian troops.
The cleric argued that rather than confronting the root causes of insecurity, political leaders have made questionable compromises with individuals linked to insurgent groups. “This government, governors negotiated with so person,” he stated, suggesting that these backdoor deals have emboldened criminal elements rather than curbing their influence.
Ayodele went further to call for the arrest of Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who has often advocated for dialogue with bandits. “People like Gumi should be arrested,” Ayodele declared. When questioned by an aide, he reaffirmed, “Yes sir. So why you still waiting? Gumi is still talking.”
The prophet’s remarks reflect growing public concern over the government’s handling of security matters. Despite Gumi’s controversial engagements with armed groups, authorities have yet to take concrete action against him, sparking debates about selective justice and weak governance.
Ayodele emphasized that the fight against terrorism requires sincerity, strategy, and moral courage. He warned that as long as influential figures who sympathize with criminals remain untouched, Nigeria will continue to suffer needless violence and instability. View, More,
