Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of IESC Worldwide, has called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Nigerian states where governors are negotiating with bandits, warning that the escalating insecurity threatens national stability.
The cleric shared the prophecy via the IESC Worldwide Facebook page, linking the rise in kidnappings to government inaction and political compromise.
Ayodele stated that when governors and officials negotiate with notorious criminals, they inadvertently embolden bandits, worsening insecurity across the country. “You see the escalation of kidnapping is encouraged by government, especially the governors,” he said. “When you start sitting with notorious killers, you are negotiating with them.”
Highlighting the urgency, the cleric stressed that only decisive action can restore order in these troubled states. “What people should do is: states where the governor’s chairman negotiated with bandits, you should have declared state of emergency,” he said. He argued that such a move would allow security forces to operate effectively without political interference and prevent further loss of lives.
Ayodele also warned the government not to underestimate international scrutiny, particularly from the United States. Referring to concerns over Christian persecution in Nigeria, he said: “Don’t think America is joking. No, they are not joking.” According to him, global powers may take stronger action if insecurity and violence continue unchecked. “Genocide is just a stepping stone,” he added, emphasizing the wider geopolitical implications of internal crises.
He further advised that the government should avoid deploying soldiers to states where political decisions have already compromised operations. “We don’t need to waste our soldiers’ lives,” he said, stressing the importance of strategic and well-supported interventions. View, More,
