In a recent statement via his official X account, former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused a former Governor of Kwara State of being behind the ongoing killings and unrest in the state.

“The genocide and mass murder in Kwara state was first unleashed by a former Governor of the state on his own people in a place called Ofa a few years ago when hundreds of people were killed in one day. It is the same former Governor that is now stoking the fire of terrrorism and funding the terrorists that are subjecting the people of Kwara to genocide today in an attempt to make the state ungovernable,” he wrote.

In his post, Fani-Kayode claimed that the present wave of violence and terror in Kwara did not start recently but has roots in a past tragedy.

According to him, the first signs of what he described as genocide were seen some years ago in Ofa, where hundreds of people reportedly lost their lives in a single day.

He alleged that the same political figure who governed the state at that time is now the one secretly backing and funding those causing chaos.

Fani-Kayode said the bloodshed is part of a wider plot to make Kwara ungovernable.

He accused the unnamed former leader of sponsoring terrorist activities to weaken the state’s peace and stability.

The former minister warned that such acts amount to crimes against humanity and must not go unpunished.

He urged security agencies to launch a full investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He also appealed to citizens of Kwara to remain calm but vigilant as the situation unfolds. View, More,
