According to a report by Anadolu English on Thursday 6 November, 2025, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump during an interview, stated that he thought Mamdani’s election victory speech was a very angry speech, proclaiming that Mamdani should be nice to him.
He also emphasized the need for deference to the Federal Government, suggesting that Mamdani’s combative approach could be his undoing, at the same suggesting that the newly elected Mayor of New York City had to be a little bit respectful of the American Government because if he was not, he does not have a chance of succeeding.
In his words, President Donald Trump said “I thought it was a very angry speech. Certainly angry toward me, and I think he should be nice to me. I’m sort of the one that has to approve a lot of things coming to him, so he’s off to a bad start. I think it’s a very dangerous statement for him to make. He has to be a little bit respectful of Washington. Because if he’s not, he doesn’t have a chance of succeeding, and I want to make him succeed — I want to make the city succeed. I don’t want to make him succeed. I want to make the city succeed, and we’ll see what happens.”
The Ameircan President, Donald Trump went further to acknowledge that he was closely watching the election outcomes in three pretty Democratic States, expressing a desire to see the new mayor perform well for the sake of New York itself.
It was gathered that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani while speaking during his election victory speech, argued that the way to terrified a despot was by dismantling the very conditioned that allowed President Donald Trump’s to accumulate power, stressing that he believed that he could show the nation how to respond to oligarchy, and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves.
In his words, Zohran Mamdani said “After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him. If there is any way to terrify a despot, it is by dismantling the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power. This is not only how we stop Trump, it’s how we stop the next one. So Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: ‘Turn the volume up.” View, More,
