Dr. Yahuza Getso, a terrorism research and community-based crimes consultant, has revealed that if the Nigerian government is serious, sincere, and transparent, it could neutralize terrorists in a short period of time.
Speaking during an interview with ARISE NEWS amid rising insecurity in the country, which has led the U.S. president to threaten troop deployment if the situation worsens, Getso highlighted some key points on how the Nigerian government can put an end to terrorism in the country.
He stated that the Nigerian government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must address corruption in the judiciary, as issues within the system and widespread corruption make it very difficult for Nigeria to achieve progress, especially considering the amount of money borrowed to tackle insecurity.
He urged the Nigerian government to be transparent. He also emphasized that anyone found directly or indirectly involved in sponsoring terrorism should be immediately prosecuted and dealt with accordingly.
He questioned why the government has not yet unveiled the list of people sponsoring terrorists, even though it claims to have their names.
He urged the government to deal decisively with those involved, noting that they know the criminals and their relatives. According to him, if the Nigerian government released the list, action could be taken within 17–31 days.
According to Dr. Yahuza Getso
“We know the criminals. We know where they are. We know who they are. We know their parents. They are not foreigners, they are Nigerians. Let me tell you, if we are serious, honest, and sincere, we can handle this matter within 17 days.”
“I want to tell you that, in less than 17 to 32 days, we will be able to reach these guys. Those who are ready to surrender their arms should surrender their arms and those who are not ready will face a kinetic approach. It’s very simple.” View, More,
