According to a report by the Daily Trust News on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Mrs Success Adaniken, a housewife who allegedly faked her own kidnap to extort her husband, has revealed that she begged her husband to forgive her and that she does not want to go to jail because of their children. This is coming after she was arrested.
Mrs Adeniken claimed she confided in her neighbour, Martins, who owns a shop next to hers, about her plan. According to her, Martins initially expressed reservations but eventually agreed to assist. She stated that Martins wasn’t present during the staged kidnapping but joined in to make the ransom call, leaving afterward.
She claimed that she was unaware of her brother’s arrest until after she was apprehended. She only found out at the police station that he had confessed and implicated her, leading to her subsequent arrest.
Mrs Adeniken expressed deep remorse, stating she’s ashamed of her actions and has pleaded with her husband for forgiveness. She’s desperate to avoid imprisonment, citing concern for their children. She claimed she didn’t realise the severity of her crime, saying she was driven by a desire to escape debt and find peace.
