Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu has reacted to the statement that was made by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Olohundare Jimoh about Omoyele Sowore.
The reaction of Chidi Odinkalu was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
In the viral video that surfaced online, the Lagos state CP said the former presidential candidate does not have NYSC certificate. He made the statement while explaining the reason for declaring Omoyele Sowore wanted.
Here is what he said;
“Sowore doesn’t have NYSC certificate because of punitive reasons. He was posted to Adamawa and he was evasive. He never did his service”.
However, Chidi Odinkalu has now reacted after the post surfaced online. In a statement that he shared on his official X handle, he said the Lagos CP is an idle man. Chidi Odinkalu asked Moshood Jimoh to go and arrest all governors who didn’t go for NYSC.
Here is what Chidi Odinkalu wrote on his official X handle;
“You mean Jimoh is this idle? Policing Lagos is serious business and should not be left in the hands of someone suffering idle fixations. He should go and arrest all the governors and ministers who didn’t even show up for NYSC”. View, More,
