In a video shared on Facebook from 25:37, Asari Dokubo, a prominent chieftain of the Kalabari people, expressed deep disappointment with Nigerians who celebrated U.S. President Donald Trump’s declaration of intent to intervene in Nigeria over the killings of Christians. He lamented that it was disheartening to see fellow citizens applaud a foreign leader’s threat to shoot Nigerians, describing such reactions as both ignorant and tragic.
Dokubo further argued that the presence of U.S. forces in Nigeria would not guarantee peace or stability, citing the examples of Gaza, Afghanistan, and Iraq, nations where American interventions brought devastation rather than relief. He warned that inviting foreign military involvement could worsen Nigeria’s problems rather than resolve them.
According to him, “It’s so sad to see Nigerians clapping because somebody (Trump) said he is going to shoot Nigerians. He is going to do this…. has he been able to achieve that? They went into Gaza to help; how many of their men died? 30,000 men are fighting them in Gaza. They ran away from Afghanistan. Continue telling yourself foolishness; when the time comes you will see it. Trump said he is coming; let him come.” View, More,
