PDP chieftain Arch. Uche Rochas has urged the Nigerian government to act decisively against those funding terrorism, describing it as the only diplomatic response capable of easing rising tensions with the United States.
In a post shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, November 2, 2025, Rochas wrote: “The only diplomatic way to deal with Trump on this matter is to eliminate and jail all the sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria.”
Rochas argued that the demand from Washington is straightforward — to see visible results in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and those enabling it.
He noted that any hesitation or half measures could further strain relations between both nations.
“That’s all he is asking of the government, and he wants to see results fast,” he added, implying that U.S. expectations center on accountability and justice rather than rhetoric or political posturing.
The PDP stalwart also warned that any attempt to shift responsibility or deflect the issue could backfire on Nigeria’s image abroad.
“If Nigeria sends anyone to the U.S., they will be disgraced,” Rochas cautioned, suggesting that only transparent investigations and prosecutions could protect the country’s credibility.
His remarks come amid renewed diplomatic tension following the U.S. designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over human rights and security lapses. View, More,
