Chika Friday, a resident of Delta State, has stated that his younger brother, Liberty, was killed by a herbalist who was also his friend. He said the herbalist allegedly kidnapped Liberty and a motorcycle rider at Owa-Alidima in the Ika North-East Local Government Area
According to a report by Punch on Sunday, November 2, 2025, Friday said when he first asked the herbalist about Liberty’s whereabouts, he denied knowing anything. He said the herbalist later told him to send him 10,000 naira if he wanted to confirm whether Liberty was still alive. He said he sent the money because he was desperate for information, but the herbalist kept demanding 10,000 naira every two days, claiming it would help him “check” on Liberty.
Friday explained that the herbalist later demanded 400,000 naira to perform a ritual that would make Liberty return home in 21 days. He said he sent 120,000 naira and promised to pay the rest later. Friday added that he tricked the herbalist into meeting him for another payment, which led to the herbalist’s arrest by the police on Thursday, October 24, 2025.
