Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, gave an emotional speech during his official pulling-out parade from the Nigerian Army, marking the end of his long and dedicated military career.
According to a video shared by Channels Television from 3:59, in his farewell address, General Musa expressed deep gratitude to his family for their love and support throughout his years of service. He said his wife, Mrs. Oghogho Lilian Musa, and their children had been his “fortress and sanctuary,” standing by him through difficult times.
“My dear wife, Mrs Oghogho Lilian Musa, and my wonderful children, have been my fortress and sanctuary,” he said
He explained that their strength helped him cope with the long periods of separation, the anxiety that came with military duties, and the dangers he often faced while defending the country.
General Musa described his family as the “unsung heroes” of his journey, saying that he owes them a debt of love that can never be repaid. He also praised the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Armed Forces, calling them the “true heroes of the nation.”
He spoke proudly of their courage, resilience, and loyalty, describing how they stood firm in the face of danger and remained committed to keeping Nigeria safe and united. General Musa urged them to stay faithful to their duties, never lose hope, and continue to uphold the military values of loyalty, sacrifice, and selfless service.
He added a powerful message in his speech, “Defeat is temporary, victory is forever,” encouraging all soldiers to keep striving for the peace and unity of Nigeria. View, More,
