According to a report that was published on the official X account of DAILY POST on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has reacted after he heard that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed names of drug offenders and several other people on the new presidential pardon list.
His statement came after presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga made the announcement on his official X account.
According to Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu removed the names of many people on the list after he consulted the Council of State.
According to Bayo Onanuga on his official X account;
“Following consultations with the Council of State and public opinion on the matter, the President directed a further review of the initially approved list for consideration in furtherance of the President’s discretionary powers under section 175 of the 1999 constitution”.
Reacting, Atiku’s Special Adviser on Media, Paul Ibe stated that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu doesn’t lead but only reacts.
He said if the public had kept quiet, convicted kidnappers and criminals would have been released back into the society.
According to DAILY POST, Paul Ibe said that;
“Once again, Nigerians have witnessed a government that doesn’t lead, it reacts. President Bola Tinubu has cancelled his own pardon for drug traffickers, kidnappers, and other hardened criminals, but only after Nigerians shouted loud enough to wake him from hismoral slumber”. View, More,
