Former lawmaker and political analyst, Cletus Obun, has questioned Nigeria’s inability to acquire advanced military technology capable of addressing insecurity and targeted operations within the country.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV from 28:30, Obun expressed concern over the gap in technological capacity between Nigeria and advanced nations, particularly the United States.
He wondered why a nation like Nigeria, with vast human and financial resources, still struggles to acquire equipment that could strengthen its defense and intelligence operations. Obun emphasized that the lack of modern technology continues to hinder effective responses to national security threats, despite the country’s spending on defense and security.
In his words: “How come Americans can take out that Iranian commander in a convoy of vehicles? What technology is that that we cannot afford? How much is it? I’ve checked the price of drones. How much is there we can’t pay for?” View, More,
