Media entrepreneur and publisher, Dele Momodu, has reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and justice in Nigeria, declaring that his advocacy for fairness across regions is driven by principle rather than personal gain.
In a post shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), Momodu emphasized the importance of consistency in public service and activism.
Responding to critics who questioned his motives following his earlier remarks on Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), he wrote, “You neither know nor appreciate the meaning of consistency… I’m for peace and unity and will continue to defend the rights of every Nigerian.”
Momodu added that silence in the face of injustice would have been more personally rewarding but morally wrong.
“I’m grateful to God for granting me the grace and courage and confidence to speak boldly to power. I will gain more from the Nigerian state, if I keep quiet and support injustice,” he said.
He further recalled his past support for Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho, noting that he had visited him while detained in Cotonou without making any public announcement.
“When the Yoruba Nation activist, Oloye Sunday Igboho, was detained in Cotonou, I found my way to his prison to offer him my modest support. I made no announcement of it,” Momodu revealed.
His post came in response to a user who suggested that Momodu’s recent commentary was influenced by flattery, while agreeing with his call to harness Igbo technological innovation for national progress. View, More,
