Former Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the recent decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack and replace top security officers in the country.
According to reports, President Tinubu approved the appointment of General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa. Other newly appointed service chiefs include Major-General W. Shaibu as the Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as the Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as the Chief of Naval Staff.
Reacting through his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Senator Shehu Sani commended the President for taking what he described as a “necessary and courageous step” toward improving the nation’s security architecture.
In his words, “Periodic changes in the leadership structure of our security services are essential in order to achieve results. The lack of courage to do this in the past partly contributed to the failures of the nation’s battle against insecurity. For us in Kaduna, we appreciate the service and stewardship of the outgoing CDS, General Musa. We are proud of his accomplishments and wish him well in his future endeavours.” View, More,
