Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei launched a scathing attack on President Donald Trump’s recent trip to Israel, characterizing it as a futile attempt to restore confidence to a defeated nation following what he described as a devastating military setback.
Writing on the social media platform X, Khamenei claimed that Israel suffered an unexpected and demoralizing defeat during recent hostilities.
“During the 12-Day War, the Zionists were struck such a hard blow that they couldn’t believe it. They weren’t expecting it, and they’ve lost hope. The US President traveled to occupied Palestine to pull them out of their despair,” he wrote.
The Iranian leader dismissed Trump’s diplomatic mission as theatrics designed to artificially inflate Israeli spirits.
In another post, he said “The US President tried to give hope and boost the morale of the disappointed Zionists in Occupied Palestine with a handful of empty words and his buffoonery. This is my analysis of the US President’s trip to Occupied Palestine.”
Khamenei’s comments reflect Tehran’s ongoing narrative that Israel has been fundamentally weakened by recent conflicts, despite the ceasefire agreement that halted fighting in Gaza.
The Supreme Leader has consistently refused to recognize Israel’s legitimacy, referring to it exclusively as “occupied Palestine” throughout his statements.
The Iranian leader framed the current geopolitical situation as part of a broader psychological warfare campaign.
He added “We’re in the midst of a soft war. In a soft war, the enemy tries to make the people depressed and to lose all hope of their own abilities.
“You, the medalists in both sporting and scientific fields, have been able to move in exactly the opposite direction of the enemy’s efforts.” he said.
Trump’s visit to Israel included an address to the Knesset and meetings with Israeli leadership, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and supporting the recently negotiated Gaza ceasefire. See, More, Here>>>
