Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has declared that any intentional delay by Hamas in returning the bodies of deceased hostages constitutes a violation of the signed agreement.

According to a report by The Times of Israel on October 13, 2025, in a statement posted on X, Katz emphasized the collective commitment to the urgent mission of ensuring the return of all fallen hostages to their families.

He expressed concern over Hamas’ announcement regarding the expected return of only four bodies, stating that this represents a failure to fulfill its obligations.

Katz warned that any deliberate delay or avoidance will be treated as a blatant breach of the agreement, and Israel will respond accordingly.

Hamas has informed mediators that it is unaware of the locations of some of the bodies of the 28 slain hostages, a fact Israel was aware of when entering the agreement.

Despite this, the partial return of bodies has raised concerns about Hamas’ compliance.

An Israeli official, speaking to CNN, indicated that between seven and nine bodies might not be retrieved, while another official estimated the number could be as high as 10 to 15.

These figures have not been officially confirmed by Israeli authorities, leaving uncertainty about the full scope of the issue.

The situation underscores the challenges in implementing the agreement, with Israel insisting on the complete return of all hostages’ remains as a priority.

Katz’s remarks signal a firm stance, suggesting that Israel is prepared to take action if Hamas fails to meet its commitments.

The agreement’s terms, while not fully detailed in public, appear to hinge on the timely and complete repatriation of the deceased, and any deviation could escalate tensions. See, More, Here>>>
