Rev. Joseph Hayab, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, has stated that Christians in some parts of northern Nigeria are facing persecution.

In an interview with TVC from 4:47, Hayab said that there are mosques in many universities across northern Nigeria but no churches are allowed to exist within the campuses. He said this is clear discrimination and should be seen as religious persecution

Hayab also said that some Christian students are being denied opportunities to further their education despite performing well in their exams. He stated that when a Christian child scores high marks but cannot gain admission into certain universities in northern Nigeria, it is another form of persecution.

In Hayab’s words: “Those who are claiming that there is no persecution probably do not know the pains some Christians in northern Nigeria have gone through. If today in many of the Universities in northern Nigeria you don’t have a church but you can have mosque everywhere what do you call that? It is religious persecution. If a Christian child gets good scores and cannot go to certain universities in northern Nigeria what do you call that? That is persecution” See, More, Here>>>
