Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and erstwhile Labour Party presidential aspirant recently reacted after the University of Nigeria Nsukka denied issuing a degree certificate to Science and Technology Minister, Uche Nnaji. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that those who were supposed to lead by example were compromised.

The minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Uche Nnaji was recently on the spotlight for the wrong reasons after his degree certificate from UNN was disputed by the prestigious school.

His actions quickly garnered widespread traction across various social media platforms, drawing mixed reactions as many accused him of certificate forgery, hence, condemnations.

Reacting, the former governor of Anambra State and erstwhile Labour Party presidential aspirant, Peter Obi in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, lend credence to the condemnations.

In his remarks, he pointed out that those who were supposed to lead by example were compromised. However, he made a striking comment that underscores the need to speak up about nonchalant behavior among public office holders.

According to his statements, he pointed out that whenever he condemned actions of those part of the criminal system, he was unapologetically attacked by those he described as noisemakers.

He further pointed out that certificate forgery was a serious criminal offence and those found culpable should be severely punished. However, while the call from Peter Obi was timely, the minister was yet to be summoned by appropriate authorities.
