Security Analyst Salisu Dantata has raised serious concerns about the deteriorating safety situation in Nigeria’s capital, highlighting specific locations where criminal activities have become alarmingly prevalent.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News from 7:08, Dantata drew attention to the dangerous conditions around Sheikh Mahmud Gumi College in Abuja, describing it as a hotspot for criminal activity that poses significant risks to residents and commuters.
The security expert specifically pointed to the area near the college, which is located opposite a police secondary school, revealing that it has become a haven for individuals engaged in criminal activities. He particularly mentioned the gardens surrounding the institution as problematic zones.
“Go to Sheikh Mahmud Gumi College, opposite the police secondary school. By the left, the whole of the gardens there. There are people that have no business being there,” Dantata stated, emphasizing that the presence of suspicious individuals has created an unsafe environment, especially during nighttime hours.
The analyst painted a troubling picture of the situation, revealing that by 11:00 PM, the area becomes extremely dangerous for motorists. He warned that criminals operating in the vicinity routinely target drivers stopped at traffic lights, with phone snatching being a common occurrence.
“Sometimes around 11:00, you cannot pass there. They will take your phone when you stop for traffic,” Dantata warned, underscoring the brazenness of criminal elements in the area.
The revelation is particularly concerning given the location’s proximity to a police secondary school, raising serious questions about security enforcement and the effectiveness of law enforcement presence in deterring criminal activities in the nation’s capital. See, More, Here>>>
