Former chairman of the national human rights commission and renowned human rights lawyer, Chidi Odinkalu recently reacted after the University of Nigeria Nsukka denied issuing degree certificate to Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Uche Nnaji. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that his actions alone were innovative.
Many were left stunned after the University of Nigeria Nsukka denied issuing a degree certificate to the minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Uche Nnaji.
The reports, which garnered widespread traction across various social media platforms, caught the attention of many, including renowned human rights lawyer, Chidi Odinkalu.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he lambasted the actions of the Technology minister, and accused him of forging his certificate.
The minister for Science and Technology, it can be recalled, had stirred controversies after his claims to a degree certificate from the prestigious UNN was disputed by the school.
According to Chidi Odinkalu, well known for his outspokenness and boldness, the actions of Uche Nnaji was nothing short of ‘innovative’.
The statements from Chidi Odinkalu however, underscores the need for transparency and accountability amongst leaders who occupy sensitive positions in the country.
While many condemned the actions of the minister, the remarks from Chidi Odinkalu further added another dimension to the debacle.
