The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Organizing Secretary in Edo State, Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor, has accused Governor Monday Okpebholo of attempting to impress both the people of Edo State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with what he described as a fake investment deal.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News Television on Friday from 4:50, Ifaluyi-Isibor alleged that the widely publicized $250 million investment deal supposedly secured by the Edo State Government in Scotland was a complete fabrication.

According to him, Governor Okpebholo and his aides only traveled to Glasgow, Scotland, for a vacation, not to secure any meaningful investment for the state.

He further claimed that the governor and his team concocted the alleged $250 million investment deal to create the impression that their trip to Scotland had a genuine economic purpose.

“The Governor and his aides actually went to Scotland for a vacation and just in an attempt to impress the Edo people, they came up with that idea of making up something to look like we went to actually work.”

Additionally, Ifaluyi-Isibor accused the governor of being overly desperate to win President Tinubu’s approval. He recounted several instances in which Governor Okpebholo, during his speeches, would digress to emphasize his commitment to helping Tinubu secure 2.5 million votes in Edo State in the next presidential election.

“I understand that he (Monday Okpebholo) wants to make the people feel that he has the capacity to lead. I understand that he wants to try to impress the people and impress the President. The moment you give my Governor the Microphone, in the next 2 minutes, he is talking about 2.5 million votes for the President. That is laughable and that even annoys the people because Edo State does not have 2.5 million registered voters with the PVC.” See, More, Here>>>
