Kenneth Okonkwo, Nollywood actor and politician, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu marginalized the southeast both during and after the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview with Symfoni 45:11, Okonkwo claimed that Tinubu avoided the southeast while campaigning, only asking them to come and meet him after he had visited other zones he considered more important.

According to him, Tinubu allegedly told the southeast that what they would get in his government was like a “soaked slice of bread”—a statement Okonkwo described as a clear message of marginalization.

He further alleged that after the election, Tinubu dismissed the region by saying that people from the southeast came to Lagos at the age of 12 but still refused to support him.

In Kenneth Okonkwo’s words: “When he was campaigning, when he was doing his primary, he did not go to the southeast. Rather, when he finished other zones he thought were important, he said they should all come and see him. When he was campaigning, he said the southeast will have a soaked slice of bread—that’s what they will get. After the election, he said these people came to Lagos when they were 12 years, and they didn’t support us. So he had the mind to emasculate and finish the southeast.” See, More, Here>>>
