Peter Ameh, former presidential candidate and ex-National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC), has responded to a call made by prominent activist Aisha Yesufu regarding zoning the presidential ticket in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Yesufu, in a post on her official X handle, argued for fairness and consistency in Nigeria’s political landscape. She emphasized that if zoning, or power rotation, is upheld in local politics—citing Edo State as an example—it should equally apply at the national level and within political parties like the ADC.

Yesufu criticized the idea of Northern candidates vying for presidency when, according to the zoning principle, it should be the South’s turn. She also noted that the same principle should apply when it favors the North in the future.

In response, Peter Ameh publicly endorsed her stance. Taking to his official X account, he wrote:

“I wholeheartedly support and endorse this message as a statement of fact. Southern Presidency till 2032.”

Ameh’s support adds weight to the ongoing debate over zoning and regional representation, highlighting growing calls for equitable political arrangements across Nigeria’s regions. See, More, Here>>>>
