Veteran Nigerian entertainer and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has joined the conversation surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s return to the National Assembly, describing her as an “Alpha woman” who cannot easily be subdued.

Charly Boy, who is also a singer, songwriter, television presenter, and actor, made his views known in a post shared on his verified X handle. His comments came just hours after news broke that Senator Natasha’s sealed office at the National Assembly had finally been reopened, allowing her to resume legislative duties.

In his reaction, Charly Boy praised Natasha’s resilience, making it clear that those who thought she would be silenced or politically crushed had underestimated her strength. He declared that it was impossible to “mess with an Alpha woman” like her, stressing that Natasha’s comeback was proof that she was not one to be easily intimidated.

The entertainer went further to issue a stern piece of advice to the Senate leadership, particularly Senate President Godswill Akpabio. According to him, the events surrounding Natasha’s ordeal should serve as a lesson for Akpabio to exercise caution when dealing with women in political spaces.

Charly Boy warned that not every woman can be dismissed or bullied into silence, stressing that some, like Natasha, are strong-willed and determined. In his own words, he reminded Akpabio to “be careful next time” because “not all women are ntanta”—a colloquial expression referring to those who are weak or easy to control.

The statement also touched on the political drama that led to Natasha’s suspension and the sealing of her office, which had drawn criticism both locally and abroad. Charly Boy argued that the Senate had run out of excuses and lies, leaving them with no choice but to unseal her office or risk international embarrassment and sanctions.

The entertainer’s comments also carried a subtle warning to political elites, pointing out that undermining women in leadership could backfire. He suggested that the Senate’s decision to restore Natasha was less about goodwill and more about being boxed into a corner by mounting pressure and exposure. See, More, Here>>>>
