Amidst rising calls from European nations, especially the administration of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the British Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Keir Starmer to recognize Palestinian Statehood, Argentina’s Ambassador to Israel blasted global leaders pushing for Palestinian statehood, accusing them of being infected by wokeism, and lacking the moral clarity demonstrated by his president, Javier Milei.

According to a report by the Jerusalem Post on Saturday, 20 September 2025, the Ambassador of Argentina to the State of Israel, Shimon Axel Wahnish. during an interview on the sidelines of Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference, positioned Argentina as a lighthouse of light amidst global darkness for its steadfast support of Israel’s war in Gaza in response to the October 7th unexpected terror attack initiated by the Palestinian nationalist Sunni Islamist political organization, which is known as Hamas against the good citizens of Israel that resulted in the death of several Israelis.

He also framed the ongoing conflict between the resistance group, Hamas, and the Israeli regime that resulted in the death of tens of thousands of innocent civilians, not as a territorial dispute, but as a fundamental war of values.

In his words, Shimon Axel Wahnish said, “More than focusing on concrete actions, the most important thing is first to clarify values, because without will and moral clarity, no action will give results. In that sense, Argentina and President Milei have absolute moral clarity. He understands that this war happening here in Israel is not a regional war, not a war over oil or land. It is a war of values … what is being experienced here is a symptom of what could happen all over the world. What is at stake is freedom and democracy against terror, antisemitism, and dictatorships.”

“Argentina, in that sense, emerged as a lighthouse amid global darkness, amid so much global moral deviation. It understood that Hamas is a terrorist group, declared it as such, and supported Israel’s right to self-defense. Time and again, both the president and the government of Argentina demand the immediate, unconditional release of all the hostages, including four or five Argentines,” the top Argentinian official stated.
