In a recent interview with Arise TV from 15:37, Cletus Obun, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his strong disapproval of the recent developments in Rivers State. Obun, a foundation member of the APC, vehemently rejected the notion that 27 individuals who made a public declaration of their membership could be considered legitimate members of the party.

He emphasised that no court of law in Nigeria has the authority to declare someone a member of a political party, especially the APC. Obun’s statements suggest a deep-seated loyalty to the party and a commitment to upholding its principles. He also expressed surprise that the National Assembly had not taken over the Rivers State House of Assembly, given the ongoing circumstances.
