A report by Anadolu Agency on Tuesday, 15 September 2025, revealed that Iran has once again rejected the two-state solution regarding the Palestinian issue, dismissing international suggestions raised at the recent Doha summit. The gathering, which focused on rising instability in the Middle East, saw renewed appeals for the recognition of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. However, Tehran described this option as unacceptable and inadequate.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the country does not recognize Israel’s legitimacy and therefore cannot accept any settlement plan that involves dividing Palestinian territory. Iran maintained that the only sustainable solution lies in forming a single Palestinian state covering all the lands, with leadership chosen through a democratic referendum that would allow participation from Palestinians worldwide. Tehran argued this approach ensures proper representation and addresses the long-standing history of displacement and occupation.

Iran further rejected proposals limiting a Palestinian capital to East Jerusalem, stressing that such an arrangement overlooks the deeper roots of the conflict. Officials noted that solutions tied to the 1967 borders fail to acknowledge the losses suffered in 1948 and therefore fall short of delivering justice or lasting peace.

The statement also underscored that Palestinians hold the right under international law to resist occupation and fight for self-determination by every necessary means. Additionally, Tehran accused the United States of worsening the crisis through one-sided policies that embolden Israeli aggression instead of advancing fairness.

Iran concluded by demanding that its position be recorded in the official report of the Doha summit, reaffirming its backing of a one-state solution and its complete refusal to accept Israel’s existence. Explore , More , News>>>
