Dr. David Love, the husband of the late Mrs. Shimite Winifred Love, has shared his side of the story after facing serious accusations over her death.
Mrs. Love was a government adviser in Delta State before she passed away in April 2024.
According to report by Vanguard on Sunday September 14, 2025, Dr. Love said his wife started feeling chest and stomach pain on April 18. She had felt this way before, so she didn’t want to go to the hospital. Instead, a pharmacist came to their home and gave her treatment through drips while checking her condition.
However, on April 21 around 2 a.m., her health got worse. She became restless, started vomiting, and asked for water. He said he quickly got help from neighbours and security to rush her to the hospital. Sadly, she was confirmed dead by 4 a.m.
After her death, He said some of her family members accused him of poisoning and harming her. He was arrested and held for five days. He also said he was attacked and that some items were taken from their home.
But according to him, the autopsy and lab tests showed that his wife died from heart failure caused by high blood pressure and lung infection. There was no sign of poison or violence.
Dr. Love said the false claims hurt him deeply and damaged his name. He also said his wife was buried without his permission and under her ex-husband’s name. Now, he wants the police to release her phone and take action against those who spread lies….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>
David said, “But, unfortunately, in the early hours of April 21, 2024, her health deteriorated. Winifred woke up around 2 a.m. asking for water, then became restless and started vomiting. With the help of security personnel and neighbours, we rushed her to hospital, and around 4 am, the doctor told me my wife had passed on.
