According to a report by Al Jazeera, on September 13, 2025, Hamas has strongly condemned Israel’s recent air raids on Gaza, including a deadly strike on the home of the Sultan family in the at-Twam area in the north, which resulted in the deaths of more than 14 people.
In a statement, the Palestinian group accused Israel of carrying out a campaign of “terror and organised war crimes” through the destruction of residential buildings and deliberate targeting of civilians.
Hamas described these attacks as serious violations of international law, emphasizing the heavy toll on Gaza’s civilian population.
The group called attention to the widespread devastation caused by Israel’s military operations, highlighting the destruction of residential towers as evidence of an indiscriminate and harsh approach.
The statement further criticized global “inaction and complicity” in the face of the violence.
Hamas argued that the lack of decisive response from international actors only encourages Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right government to escalate what the group described as genocide and forced displacement of Palestinians.
Hamas renewed its urgent call to international bodies, including the United Nations and the Arab League, urging them to intervene immediately.
The group requested these organizations to halt the ongoing assault on Gaza and to hold Israeli leaders accountable for what it termed “the gravest crimes of our time.”
The harsh language in Hamas’s statement reflects the deepening tensions and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, characterized by escalating violence and widespread suffering among civilians.
As the conflict continues, Hamas’s demand for global accountability adds pressure on international institutions to respond and act to prevent further destruction and loss of life in the Palestinian territories.
