Tragedy struck the family of an artisan, Aruna Imuekemhe, after he was allegedly killed by his customers in a violent dispute over a piece of furniture he had worked on.
In a video shared by TVC News from 1:49, according to reports, Mr. Imuekemhe was contracted in April this year to refurbish some chairs. The job was completed and delivered months ago, but trouble began when one of the customers returned six months later, claiming the chairs were faulty. Witnesses say the artisan refused to redo the work, explaining that he had already delivered on the agreed job.
The disagreement quickly turned into a heated fight. Sadly, it ended in Mr. Imuekemhe’s death.
Speaking with deep pain, his wife recounted the heartbreaking moment she lost her husband. “As he got down from the bike after returning from where he had gone, they dragged his shirt until he fell. The other one used his shirt to choke him until he gave up. I want justice for my husband. He didn’t deserve to die,” she said.
Mr. Imuekemhe leaves behind his grieving wife and a young child. Family members say his death has created a painful vacuum in their lives, describing him as hardworking and peaceful.
Confirming the incident, CSP Moses, a police spokesperson, said investigations are ongoing. He added that three suspects linked to the killing are already in custody.
