The newly sworn-in Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers Hon. Chidi Lloyd, has declared an all-out war against cultism and criminality in the council. His first major pronouncement in office was the announcement of a ₦2 million bounty on a notorious cultist identified as Cairo, who is accused of brutally murdering Chief Dabrison Ferdinand during a council meeting in Obele community.

Speaking in a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Echo 360 TV, Lloyd stated: “There is one Cairo that came here and killed Chief Dabrison Ferdinand. I am placing a ransom of two million naira on him, whether dead or alive. He must come and face justice, he must account for what he has done. This one was not even an allegation—it was done in broad daylight.”

The Chairman, while on an inspection tour of various communities, assured residents that his administration will spare no effort in flushing out cultists and restoring lasting peace to Emohua. He warned that no criminal will be bigger than government authority, stressing: “No individual will be bigger than government.”

Lloyd also expressed displeasure over reports that some women were allegedly providing support to cult groups. He urged community members to reject such alliances, promising that once peace is fully restored, schools will reopen, farms will thrive again, and families will live in safety and stability.

The Chairman’s strong declaration came on the same day he officially assumed office, swore in his deputy, and inaugurated 14 councillors of the 10th Legislative Assembly. His tough stance against cultism has already sparked discussions across the state, with many residents applauding his courage and hoping his words will translate into action.
