In a recent interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today from 2:20,” former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal made headlines by reaffirming his commitment to oust President Bola Tinubu’s administration by 2027.

Tambuwal, a key figure in the opposition, dismissed claims that Peter Obi hails from the North, stating, “Is Peter Obi from the North, what are you telling me? It is true that some Northerners are not happy with Bola at all.” This reflects growing discontent within certain regions regarding Tinubu’s leadership.

Tambuwal’s remarks come amidst his recent release by the EFCC following an investigation into alleged cash withdrawals of 189 billion naira, which he labeled as politically motivated.

He emphasized the need for a united opposition, suggesting that a coalition could challenge Tinubu effectively. “It will be easier for the opposition to form an alliance to defeat Tinubu,” he said, underscoring the strategic importance of unity among figures like Atiku Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan, and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

As the 2027 election looms, Tambuwal’s stance highlights the intensifying political battle and the complex dynamics shaping Nigeria’s future.
