Former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Godwin Obaseki, Hon. Shadrach Udugbai, has reacted to the recent protests over the neglect of families of victims who died in an accident involving the campaign convoy of Governor Monday Okpebholo in Edo State

In an interview with Voice Of The People TV from 11:38, Udugbai said convoys of top government executives often drive recklessly and are usually too large. He said this has become a disturbing pattern that puts ordinary road users at risk. He said when FCT Minister Nyesom Wike visited Edo State to commission a bus transport project, he moved around Benin City in a convoy of 67 vehicles

Udugbai also said that the convoy of Governor Okpebholo currently has over 30 vehicles, which he believes is excessive.

In Udugbai’s words: “Yes, especially with the ones we have seen in recent times. What we have seen is over bloated vehicles, a governor moving around with 20 vehicles. When Wike came to Edo to commission a bus transport line, they had 67 vehicles on the convoy that moved around Benin city that very day, taking him from government house to the airport. For me that is flagrant abuse of power. 12:03 One person is coming and you have 65 vehicles, even currently the convoy of Monday Okpebholo ranges over 30 vehicles”
