According to a report from ChannelsTv, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was speaking to Nigerians in Brazil, the President pledged to fast-track Nigeria’s development through technology and food security, aligning with the success models of emerging economies like Brazil.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago have stirred conversations across Nigeria after a video of the governor kneeling to greet the president during their state visit to Brazil surfaced online.
The gesture came shortly after President Tinubu secured a landmark $2.5 billion investment deal in the livestock sector with JBS S.A., a leading Brazilian meat processing giant.
The project, set to be located in Niger State, is part of Tinubu’s broader push to boost food security and foreign investment in Nigeria.
Governor Bago, who accompanied the president on his second official trip to Brazil, was seen showing deference to Tinubu in the now-viral footage.
The images quickly made rounds on social media, igniting debates among Nigerians about politics, loyalty, and future ambitions.
Some Nigerians saw the governor’s action as a sign of deep political alignment with the president.
Femi Peters wrote: “Bago’s alliance with Tinubu is beyond likeness. It’s an economic and food security partnership.
Lagos State already bought 200,000 acres of land in Niger for agriculture, and the rice goes straight to Imota Rice Mill in Lagos. The relationship is strategic and beneficial.”
Another commenter, Cupher, said: “I am seeing the CEO of NIGER FOODS. That man and Bago na 5 and 6. Even Dr. Sammy Adigun, global agriculturalist and chairman of NFS Limited in Niger State, is part of this movement.”
Michael Akinsuyi noted: “This love from Governor Bago to PBAT is personal. I watched his interview where he even called Tinubu his father.”
For Oluwaseun Olatunde, the kneeling gesture hinted at bigger political undertones:
“My mind is telling me something… Bago may be groomed for the presidency. Just like Tinubu once elevated Fashola, those with a third eye can see it.”
The viral video has now fueled speculation that Bago’s loyalty could place him in a stronger position within the national political landscape as Tinubu continues to strike global economic deals.
