Yunusa Tanko, the Chieftain of the Labour Party and spokesman to former Anambra State governor and erstwhile presidential aspirant, Peter Obi recently reacted after president Tinubu disclosed that Nigeria was a corrupt free nation. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the manner in which Nigerians were being treated went contrary to the claims.
During a highly publicized speech in Brazil, president Tinubu made a remarkable statement that generated mixed reactions from different quarters after it went viral across various social media platforms.
According to the president, Nigeria was a corrupt free nation and almost everything was done according to acceptable standards. His remarks however, stirred contrary opinions, especially from the opposition.
Reacting, Yunusa Tanko, a Chieftain of the Labour Party and spokesman to 2023 LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, disclosed that the president’s remarks were incorrect.
In his arguments, he pointed out that Nigeria was still being ruled with disdain for the people. This, meant that the manner in which Nigerians were being treated by the current administration needed improvement.
These were the words of Yunusa Tanko which he shared on his official X handle,
“And they say Nigeria is a corrupt free nation do you agree? While they rule the country with disdain for the people…….” He wrote.
