Professor Usman Yusuf, former executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has given his take on the plans by state governments to negotiate with bandits operating in the environment.
In recent times, several Nigerians have endorsed the move by the state government to negotiate with bandits and criminal elements in order to curb the rising level of insecurity, while others criticized the development, stressing that it would encourage Nigerians to venture into various forms of criminality.
However, during an interview with TrustTV News from 21:22, Professor Usman Yusuf, expressed support for the peace deals with bandits, noting that insecurity in Nigeria can only be alleviated locally.
He emphasized that currently, Israel is launching bombing attacks in Gaza City, but they are negotiating with Hamas.
According to the video, “As we speak today, Israel is bombing Gaza, but they are talking with Hamas.”
